It is possible to select a specific modem/port on which to make a call and choosing this option (or hitting SHIFT-F5) will allow you to do so.

Highlight the modem/port you wish to use, type the phone number you wish to call into the phone number box and hit OK.

Situations where you might want to do this include:

• If you want to see if there are any modems/ports available before going through the process of dialing and waiting for a connect.
• Administrators can use this functionality for debugging problems with specific telephony cards.
• Future versions of NTS will include multimedia calls (ie sending voice and/or video), and only multimedia-compatible hardware will be able to make those calls.
